Parent & Teacher Resources
Dear Parents and Teachers,
Welcome to the world of Pablo Python! The interactive games and activities in this website are designed to encourage young children to explore key concepts in biology and ecology. Wild animals are well adapted for survival in their natural habitats, and even young scientists can begin to understand this through their own observations. An animal's size, shape, color, texture, pattern, and movement can all be important adaptations for survival.
Here on the Pablo Python website, children can explore four different ecosystems the tropical rainforest of the Amazon basin in South America, the vast savannahs of East Africa, the harsh tundra and ice of the Arctic, and the depths of the Atlantic Ocean.
From early childhood milestones recognizing distinct shapes and colors comes an awareness of the special lives that animal live in the wild, and the beginning of an understanding that a wild organism's form is related to its function. This exploration begins here with the help of Pablo Python, and children can be encouraged to continue their observations in more familiar settings. A trip to a local park or nature center is an excellent opportunity to look for birds whose beaks are perfectly shaped for local plants and food sources. Your local zoo also has animals from around the world, and is a great spot to encourage your young scientists to look for sizes and shapes, colors and patterns, from around the world.
We have developed a number of activities that you can use at home or in a classroom to extend the Pablo learning experience. Each of the activities below is a PDF document that is easy for you to download and print.
