World Oceans Day 2024

Oceans are the lungs of our planet. They help regulate our climate and provide sources of food and livelihoods for millions. Today, on World Oceans Day (and every day!), we celebrate them with videos and stories from those passionate about our oceans, marine life, and the need to protect them for future generations.

Hudson Canyon

About 100 miles southeast of New York City is the beginning of the Hudson Canyon, the largest submarine canyon along the US's Atlantic Coast and an invaluable habitat. In 2016, we nominated Hudson Canyon as a National Marine Sanctuary. Today, the process is moving forward and we are part of a broad group supporting it. This summer, we're sharing voices from across the spectrum who are part of this coalition.
