Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

WCS is committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in all our programs and efforts in New York City and in the countries where we work across the globe. We are emphasizing an inclusion framework to engage our entire organization to advance a DEI ethic, as discussed in our WCS 2030 strategy, in all that we do.

WCS

How does WCS implement DEI?

Our strategy is to work collaboratively across all departments and lead efforts to define and cultivate a framework of inclusion in our journey. Not only will that define our DEI program, it will strongly impact all our strategies by consistently ensuring that all voices in our extended employee community are heard.

Non-Discrimination Policy

WCS values diversity and prohibits discrimination on the basis of race, national origin, color, sex, sexual orientation, age, disability, veteran status and other protected classifications. The WCS community is committed to ensuring that no one, including our valued employees, diverse suppliers, interested job applicants and guests to our facilities, is excluded or discriminated against in WCS’s programs and activities. If you have questions about WCS’s non-discrimination policies or if you believe you have been discriminated against, please direct your inquiry or complaint (which may be anonymous) to:

Employee Resource Groups

We are very proud of our Employee Resource Groups (ERGs). They encourage employee engagement, develop diverse talent, promote professional development and aid in cultivating a strong inclusive community.

Our US-based ERGs are structured to represent less hierarchy, provide greater transparency and serve as critical strategic partners. Equally important, they will serve as an adaptable model to be reclassified for our global regions. Employees are able to select the ERGs which interest them.

Reckoning With Our Past

In the name of equality, transparency, and accountability, we must confront our organization’s historic role in promoting racial injustice as we advance our mission to save wildlife and wild places.
