As we gear up for World Wildlife Day on March 3, we’ll be posting different ways for you to get involved, as well as fun interactive polls and educational animal content you can share with friends and family to spread awareness.
To start, here are 5 easy actions you can take to help wildlife in the next 50 days—and all year long.
1. Learn and Educate Others
Expand your knowledge of wildlife conservation to spark conversations, and share resources such as documentaries or articles to inspire others.
2. Reduce, Reuse, Recycle
Protect natural habitats by minimizing waste. Opt for reusable items like bags and bottles, recycle materials properly, and avoid single-use plastics to reduce pollution and protect marine life.
3. Discover Wild Spaces Near You
Find a new park or public space near you where you can get in touch with nature again. The wild outdoors is all around, from vast empty spaces to secluded little places, you just need to look for it. And it's yours to enjoy without spending a dime. Take a break from your phone, wander and recharge. Don't keep it a secret either! Tell a friend about a great wild space you'd recommend.
4. Eat Local
Eat locally grown food and locally caught seafood whenever you can. Check the label and make smart choices. Choosing food that is produced locally supports the people in your community, avoids the carbon pollution produced by transporting it, and helps protect habitat around the world under threat from agricultural expansion.
5. Advocate for Widllife
Support conservation efforts by signing petitions, contacting lawmakers to back wildlife protection policies, and sharing campaigns on social media to raise awareness.
